Do You Need A Data Recovery Service?

It's happened to the best of us. You're working late into the night all on an important document and all of a sudden, whether it's your fault or not, you lose all that work. The first thing that happens is we are reminded to save our work more frequently. Unfortunately, that won't help at the time of our darkest despair, when hours of work is gone. Most Windows programs let the user press the CTRL-Z keys to undo what you just did. If that doesn't work, it may be time to look into a data recovery service.

A data recovery service can help you bring back lost files or information, saving you hours of frustration, and possibly recovering data you would never have seen again. Data recovery services or agencies may consist of one dude or a number of licensed and trained technicians. They can often be found online, since that is where their target market lives. You can Google data recovery services for one in your area. Most data recovery services will walk you through a process that will allow you to recover your own data, making a house call generally unnecessary.

Sure, you might be able to find the missing data yourself, but at what price? Time is money, and data recovery agencies can save you time, normally without charging you too much money. They are professionally trained and can recover a variety of lost data whether it was your own fault or a technological failure like a crashed hard drive or corrupt software. They can work on different machines and operating systems and can nearly always solve your problem, no matter how bad you think it may be.

Data recovery service providers are on call around-the-clock, because that is what data is lost. They're like emergency room doctors for your computer. Since you don't plan your data loss, they can't plan their schedule, and so need to be available when you need them. They are available for individuals, as well as businesses.

For businesses, it is often wise to select a data recovery service with which you form a partnership. They make themselves available to you on a priority basis, and offer their support to all the employees in your company. Doing this, they can offer more competitive rates, and maybe even a single individual dedicated to your business needs. When it comes to data loss in businesses, that lost data can be very expensive, and so having someone around full-time may be a small price to pay.

Data recovery service professionals are an integral part of today's technological environment. Whether it's your business needs that are involved, or your letter to grandma, lost data is never fun. Computers, and technology in general, can be unreliable, so it's good to know who you can call when your data is gone.

When you realize you need a data recovery service, it's usually too late. There's no shame in calling in professional help. They can often help you over the phone, even, and are available during emergencies. Visit http://www.datarecoverplan.com to learn more.

Data Recovery World Wide

?Data? is the plural of the Latin word ?datum?. In normal usage the word data is used for both singular and plural forms. All electronic or computer files in text, images, database entry, audio and video formats excluding the written command programmes for the computer are called data. This data is stored for the day-to-day reading and writing of work or for any future usage.

IT Managers all over the world are struggling to manage the tremendous growth of data and protect it. This data comes in all forms, such as: databases, e-mail, stored files etc. These data are stored permanently and archived to meet the regulatory requirements, and for changes in business functions. The developments in information technology help us to store huge quantities of data in magnetic, optical and solid-state storing devices. Data is stored in the most commonly used storage devices, such as: hard disks, micro drives, multiple disks, tape/digital linear tapes, CD/DVDs, portable drives, Magneto Optical storage devices, removable disks, Zip drives, diskettes, compact flash/memory cards, and USB flash drives. In order to store the data in various formats we use certain platforms or computer programmes. Every computer will have an operating system for starting the computer, running the applications and saving them in the storage device. The operating system helps the coordination of all the inputting devices like keyboard and mouse to enter and store the input information. The commonly used operating systems to store data are Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT/2000/XP, Apple Mac, Novel Netware and UNIX.

Some times the data stored in a computer device is lost either due to ?Physical Damage? or ?Logical Damage? to the computer. Data recovery is a method of retrieving the lost data due to physical damage to the system or due to the logical damage to the application software. Data recovery also helps to retrieve even deleted information for forensic investigation. Data is stored in the most commonly used storage devices discussed above. Sometimes these storage devices may start malfunctioning or stop functioning completely due to physical damage. Some of the common physical damages are: scuffs in the data CD or DVD discs, head crash or failed motor in hard disks and data tapes. Physical damage may also happen due to external occurrences, such as accidentally dropping of the devices, flood, or fire. Data lost due to physical damages can be recovered either fully or partially only by experts under ideal conditions.

The exact damage to the storage device is discovered and the extent of the damage is evaluated. The techniques of recovering the data are not the same for all physical damages. It is normally decided after finding out the details about the storage device, storage space, nature of files lost, operating system used and the name of the manufacturing company.

Firstly, the extent of physical damage is assessed using customised special tools. Then the storage device is opened in a special dust free room to prevent further damage. Data stored in magnetic form is analysed in detail using special equipment. Retrievable data is collected from the device in analogue form and later this data is converted into a digital format as readable data and copied in a new device for use. The percentage of data recoverable depends upon the amount of physical damage to the device. Most of these storage devices are not fire and water proof. In case of fire, water should not be used to extinguish the fire. If water is used the data must be recovered before the water dries up and corrodes the metal surfaces. In case of flood the storage device must be continued to be kept in a wet condition without drying for recovery of data.

A hard disk with a high storage capacity is logically partitioned as individual storage units (e.g. C:, D: and E: etc) called ?drives? for use by the operating system. This logical partitioning saves the trouble of having a number of hard disks in the same system. Similar partitioning is done on tape storage units or any other storage unit with a different format. Logical damage is a more common problem than a physical damage. In the case of logical damage the storage devices will remain intact and usable but the data stored inside the devices is corrupted or lost. Most of the logical damages are caused by sudden power failures. System crash is another form of logical damage where the operating system may fail to start or malfunction. In either of these situations the data file will not get stored appropriately and left in a conflicting condition. If infected by a virus the self-generated copies of the virus will overwrite the existing programmes and cause system malfunctioning and logical damage. Sometimes data is lost or erased due to formatting the computer partitions.

Unlike physical damage, logical damage comes with an option of self repairing tools. In normal conditions these tools are sufficient to restore work and recover the lost data. When these tools fail to correct the problem professional help should be sought. Initially, a consistency check is done to check the file structure and system information. If there is more damage in the file system the running of a consistency check will fail and crash and may never find the right system file. In another method the consistency check is not done and instead the complete drive is checked for file system structure and limits. Using this technique without disturbing or repairing the file system allows the data to be recovered and stored in a different device. Data recovery is mostly used by big business, covert army activitiesFree Articles, police authorities and tax authorities. Current trends in data recovery management advises more back up services with improved storage facilities including online storing of data.

Data Recovery Software ? Are they Useful?

A difficult question: How to use the data recovery software? Here I guide you with some of the checks which you can perform while selecting data recovery software to recover back data.

Have you ever heard the word data recovery? If YES, then you might be aware about the data loss situations. But if you say NO then you are one of the lucky person who have not experienced the situations of data loss, hard drive crashes which demand data recovery.

What is Data Loss?

Data Loss is a situation where you lose the data stored on your hard drive or it becomes inaccessible. This data could be the important business files, music, personal collection of pictures, emails, videos or anything. Now why this happens? This situation generally occurs when the hard drive fails or crashes, files get corrupt or damaged, there are virus attacks on your computer system, hard drive corrupts due to water-fire damages, poor usage of the hard drive, ad ware ? spy ware attacks etc.

Because of these reasons you might lose access to your data or it can get corrupt. But the relief is that this inaccessible data ca be recovered back. It?s possible almost in 95%of the cases.

Data Recovery Software are the best means to recover the lost, deleted, inaccessible, corrupt, damaged data from the hard drive, files and folders and other storage media.

What is Data Recovery Software?

By Data Recovery Software I mean to say, software which can recover back the lost data by scanning your hard drive. Similar in the way as you see other software which have different functions and working. For instance, anti-virus software will stop, remove and protect your computer system from virus attacks, and any password recovery software will help you to restore the lost / forgotten passwords of your email id which were stored in your PC.

According to Surveys,

"Viruses: Survey finds PCs infected at a rate of more than 10% each month" -- (ICSA Labs, 2002)?

?

?35% of all PCs sold to businesses are laptops and 1 in 5 of these laptops will suffer hardware failure in the first 3 years" -- Gartner analyst Brian Gammage, The Changing Spectrum of Mobile PC Usage, October 30, 2002

"Data Recovery is possible in 85% of all data loss cases" --Dan Pelosi, Data Recovery 911, December 2002

Thus it can be concluded that data recovery has its own importance when people loose their important data. Data recovery software is useful for file repair, file recovery, database recovery, backup recovery, email data recovery and forensic data recovery.

??

How to use Data Recovery Software?

The data recovery market is flooded with many data recovery software range. There are renowned companies and small manufacturers too which perform data recovery at small scale. But data recovery is not an easy task to perform. It requires determination, expertise, appropriate recovery tools, Class 100 Clean rooms, biometric environment and of course a data recovery technician who can perform the data recovery ? thus resulting into data recovery services.

Data Recovery Software is developed to minimize the possibilities of data recovery services thus enabling the end user to himself perform data recovery on his PC. The do-it yourself data recovery software available in the market completely scan your damaged hard drive and retrieves the lost data. When you finalize the data recovery software, always look for the software support provided by the data recovery company on their website:

  • You can view the Animated Working Demos ? how the software works, provided by the company. These working demos are the best option to know and view the GUI and functions of the software.
  • You can also look for any software user?s guide made available by the company on their website. The manual has the step by step procedure to perform data recovery. Follow these steps and evaluate the software.
  • When you download the software, view help manual accompanied with the software. It guides you with step by step recovery procedure.

Generally, demo version of the data recovery software are available for FREE downloads. It?s free because the companies want you to test the recovery possibilities of your data and then only purchase the software. The demo versions are not enabled with saving feature for the recovered data. You can download the demo version and run it on your computer system.

Word of Caution: The point which should be noted here is that you should not run the data recovery software on the corrupt drive. As this might overwrite the original data which then gets deleted. Always perform data recovery on the copy of corrupt data and a good device.

Install demo version of the data recovery software and analyze its working, features and the amount of data which the software can recover. If the software displays the lost, deleted data then the software surely can get back your data to you and you can also purchase it. When you run the demo version always ensure;

  • How much time does the software take to recover data?
  • Is the software able to recover the deleted files also?
  • Can it recover attachments?
  • Can it recover data damaged due to virus attacks?
  • Is the software provider data recovery company recognized in the market?
  • What is the recovery percentage of the software?
  • Is the software purchase amount refunded, if the software is unable to recover data?
  • View clients of the company, if possible contact them and gather feedback about the company
  • Read client testimonials of the company
  • Consult with support staff of the company and ask queries related to your data loss situation? Like, according to them which would be the appropriate data recovery software for your case of data corruption? As this would help in purchasing the right software.
  • Compare 2-3 data recovery companies with their recovery percentage, client satisfaction percentage, data recovery techniques, range of data recovery software provided by the company.

After performing all these checks you can purchase the software and recover your data.

Please Note: While you are performing check on data recovery companies, always try to find out real data recovery figures of the company, as many companies add false figures to their websites and in the end are able to empty your pockets.

Conclusion:

It can be concluded that data recovery software are boon for such individuals and companies who lose their data due to accidental deletions, virus attacks, unexpected system shutdowns, hard drive failuresArticle Submission, system crashes and other undefined reasons. The data recovery software is definitely useful in the hour of need and data recovery services prove themselves when the software is unable to get back data. You can also give a try to data recovery services when there is a severe damage caused to your device.

Data Recovery for Hard Drives and Other Formats

Data recovery of hard drives is an important part of any business and home anymore. The amount and the value of data on a computer is astronomical, and data recovery of hard drives is one of the major concerns of most businesses. It is estimated that $2-$3 billion each year is lost due to data that couldn't be recovered. However, data recovery on hard drive doesn't have to be very hard. As long as you are able to take a few precautions, know what to do, and have a good data recovery software, you might be able to save spending hundreds of dollars on a data recovery company.

The first thing to understand about the data recovery process is how your computer actually works when you delete any data. This is crucial to understanding why some data recovery on hard drives is successful and some isn't.

When you delete a file, it doesn't really just vanish from your computer. Instead, it is just removed from your view, and is labeled as 'deleted' . When you add something else to the hard drive, such as another new file, the previous one is overwritten. So there is a chance to recover the data that was deleted before any new data is added. Now it's important to understand that new data is being written almost all the time to your hard drive. So to have a better chance of a successful data recovery for hard drive, you should stop using the computer as soon as you discover that you've lost some data. Since the data is overwritten in the reverse order (that means that the latest deleted data is lost first), it is essential to stop right away. Then, before using a data recovery company, you should attempt using a data recovery software such as Recover Lost Files Quickly And Efficiently

If the data does seem to be lost for good, then you might need to call in for the professionals. Keep in mind that this will cost you anywhere from $100 or even thousands depending on the value of the data, and the level of work needed. You might lose data because of hard-disk damage, and then the cost could be even more. The data is much harder to recover in laptops, because of the smaller parts, but is doable, and has just barely lower success rate. About 75% of the data recovery for hard drives is successful.

Even when looking for a good company, you have to careful and spend some time finding the right company and the right price. Also, you can just ship over the hard-disk to them. When doing so, make sure that you package it in a manner so that it is completely protected from static. Static can destroy the hard disk really fast. If the hard-disk was exposed to water, try and get it to the company faster, as the data is recovered better before the hard-disk dries up.

Hope this information was helpful to you.

User Guide for Data Recovery - Through Data Recovery Software

According to Murphy's Law of Data Loss, "The probabilities of a hard-disk crash increase with the number of days since the drive was last backed up." No hard disk drive is ever completely safe from crashing, and losing all the important data on it.

A disk drive can be damaged due to a number of causes such as virus attack, voltage glitches, software malfunction, hard disk format, accidental file/directory deletion, human error or even sabotage. Such events cause corruption or damage to the disk drive, and make the data completely inaccessible to the user.

Data Recovery comes into play when your storage stops responding to your request. This is the most critical time for your data and the impending problem with the hard drive. A wrong step can make your hard drive & data inaccessible for ever. First and foremost thing is Don't Panic!

Now check whether you have a physical failure or logical one. Normally in 80% of cases there is a logical failure. To know the type of failure you have hear whether any ticking sound is coming from the hard drive or not? If not that means that it is a logical failure and you can recover your data through data recovery software.

You can choose the data recovery software by searching on Google with keywords like data recovery software, hard drive recovery etc. While scanning different software product consider these factors:

See to this whether the software supports your systems hardware like RAM (Random Access Memory), Operating Systems (particular Window flavors, Unix, Linux, Solaris etc). You must check your RAM before installing the data recovery software, as these software uses recursive search operation which requires lots of virtual memory. For a fast recovery you have large size of virtual memory. I would recommend 256 MB or 1 GB would be best.

After selecting the software it's the turn of software Installation. NEVER means NEVER install the software on the same physical drive from where you have lost your data. As it may get over written and you will lose it for ever.

Always use a working computer with a drive having enough free space to store your recovered data.

Verify that the drive in the PC is connected on the Primary Channel as Master.
You can connect the drive as:
* Slave on the primary channel OR AS
* Master or Slave on the secondary channel

Note: You can take help of support executive in your office or your maintenance engineer if you are not comfortable in connecting the drives.

Attaching the Drive in to slave has three simple steps:
* Set the jumpers on the hard drive or CD ROM
* Plug and screw the drive in
* Boot the computer up and make sure the drive is detected

Let's take the example of Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery Software
Run setup.exe from Stellar Phoenix software CDROM or diskette. If you have downloaded Stellar Phoenix from www.stellarinfo.com or a download engine, run the application setup.exe file from windows explorer to begin the installation process.

Note: Make sure you are logged in as administrator before initializing setup, as the software installation requires admin rights in Windows NT/2000/XP.

Setup starts to install the software, creates a desktop shortcut and creates an entry in program groups menu. The default path where software is installed is C:Program FilesStellar Phoenix FAT & NTFS 2.0Software creates an entry in Add Remove program group for uninstalling the software.

Here we came to the end of installation. Now you can perform the desired activity like recovering the complete partition, deleted files or repair the corrupted files.
In my next article I will guide you in recovering the Deleted files & folders by using
Stellar Phoenix Fat & NTFS - Data Recovery Software
?

A disk drive can be damaged due to a number of causes such as virus attack, voltage glitches, software malfunction, hard disk format, accidental file/directory deletion, human error or even sabotage. Such events cause corruption or damage to the disk drive, and make the data completely inaccessible to the user.

Data Recovery For Peace Of Mind

One of the biggest concerns that can happen to a person is to lose the data off of their hard drive and it can happen when you least expect it. Many of us store personal and business information on our computers. Data viruses are a serious threat and very possibly they can delete some of your important data from your system. And like many of us, you may have accidentally deleted some data or important documents. Like many serious business owners you can?t leave yourself vulnerable to these dangers as you have a lot to lose if you have no way of recovering lost data. That data is lost forever.

There is data recovery software that is capable of recovering any data should you lose it. And it?s something any serious business person should have.

What Data Recovery Software Can Do

1)Recover any information that?s been lost after virus attacks, software failures, power cuts or any other types of threats.

2)Undelete files or information that have been deleted.

The best way to avoid compromised data security is to put safeguards in place. A few common data security measures are encryption, antivirus and firewall protection. Encryption translates data into a secret code. To read an encrypted file you must have access to the key or password that enables you to decrypt it. There are many software programs and services that provide encryption services depending on your security needs. Other security measures are available such as anti-virus and firewall protection. There are some software programs that combine anti-virus and firewall protection for overall data security.

Some people take computer safety lightly but if you are an active computer user, it is vital to have a backup plan and additionally good software for data recovery just in the event you accidentally lose your data or in the event of a virus attack. For active computer users, data recovery software is a must whether you?re a business owner or just a computer amateur.

Some people are reluctant when it comes to the cost of protecting their data, as well as the time involved in doing secure backups. What they fail to consider is the cost of their lost personal and productivity time that is spent trying to recover data that could be recovered in just minutes if they had properly taken the time to safe guard the data in the first place. If your computer data files are the lifeblood of your business and personal life, the time and money involved in protecting that data adequately and properly is worth the extra cost.

Data recovery either from a crashed hard drive or lost through compromised data security can be a frustrating and devastating experience. The best situation is to avoid the loss of data all together with regular computer backups and data security measures in place. Data recovery software takes only minutes to install and it virtually takes care of itself. Your computer data will remain where it needs to be, on your hard drive.

Data Recovery And Hard Disk Information Retrieval - A Complete Review.

Recently my hard drive crashed, hey I don?t mean that windows decided to be bitchy and make me reinstall it ? Anyways it?s really been a long time since I?ve been idiot enough to run Microsoft programs, thanks very much!

Well I mean that my hard drive, spinning away quietly at speedy away irreverently, which all of a sudden emits a scratchy, screeching sound that can only be described as sickening, and immediately wiping out vast swathes of data like some primordial plague lord reaper scorching the continent of Europe with the bubonic. Sure this was one hellish experience, but nothing compared to the misery which began once I hired a hard disk data recovery service.

As a techie patiently enlighten me over the phone, a hard disk data recovery is not always a simple or a clear-cut affair. In order to complete a successful hard disk data recovery, it can either be a simple matter or an intricate one, and either expensive, or rather unreasonably expensive, depending on the severity of the problem.

At times the only problem is that something is not working with the loading mechanism of the hard drive. In fact there more than a dozen of programs and macros which have to load to enable the computer to boot successfully, and if any one of these becomes cross-linked, or has any error at all with one of it's files, it can potentially cause a crash and necessitate a hard disk data recovery. Fortunately, this is the easy kind - it is even possible to for one to perform the hard disk data recovery with a little know-how and an extra hard drive. Simply slave boot the hard drive to another one, and extract the data off of it ? and you are ready to go as easy as pie!

However if you actually scratch the disk's surface, the hard disk data recovery becomes a much more tricky and a problematic affair. Time and again there are several solutions. Of which, one of them is to do a simple software hard disk data recovery, where you pull as much data off of the hard drive as you physically can, and simply hope the scratch hasn't affected a spot where it ruined too many of your files. If the hard drive has been physically wrecked ? that is to say, if it is badly scratched and won't spin without doing further damage, or at all ? then it must be taken apart physically, and the plates must be examined by sophisticated, expensive machinery. And this is the case where hard disk data recovery can run into the range of thousands of dollars!

What To Expect With a RAID Server & Data Recovery

What To Expect With a RAID Server & Data Recovery

Common RAID Server Failures And Data Loss Issues

  • RAID controller failure or configuration changed
  • Two or more hard drives fail or go offline
  • Server crashes and won't remount the array or volume(s)
  • Configuration becomes corrupt or damaged
  • Adding incompatible hard drives
  • Hardware conflicts
  • Software corruption
  • Virus infection, software and operating system upgrades
Recovering Data From RAID 0 Hard Drive Configurations

Because data on a RAID array or volume is typically critical to business continuity, when it becomes inaccessible due to one or more hard drives failing, a bad RAID controller, multiple hard drive failure, failed upgrade or damaged striping, RAID status in degraded mode, or errors with the MFT mount points, it is imperative that you shut the server down and get help.

Permanent data loss often occurs when hard drives are swapped, moved from one position to another or placed in other machines in an attempt to rebuild or repair the array. Formatting a boot drive or partition can also damage or remove striping, which reduces the recoverability of data and causes permanent loss.

RAID 0 Configurations

RAID Level 0 requires a minimum of 2 hard drives to implement. A RAID 0 configuration is a striped array without fault tolerance. A benefit to this RAID configuration is that it reduces the hard drives used. If any hard disk fails, the entire volume will be lost completely. For this reason, a RAID 0 configuration should never be used for any server which contains sensitive information, such as a SQL server or Exchange server.

RAID 1 Configurations

RAID Level 1 requires a minimum of 2 drives to implement. For the best performance, the controller must be able to perform two concurrent separate reads per mirrored pair or two duplicate writes per mirrored pair. In certain instances a RAID 1 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure, it also uses the simplest storage design. The overhead is very high at 100%, so RAID 1 may not be ideal for a larger server.

RAID 1+0 Configurations

RAID Level 10 (1+0) requires a minimum of 4 drives to implement. A RAID 10 is a striped array with segments consisting of RAID 1 arrays and having the same fault tolerance as RAID level 1 plus the overhead fault-tolerance of mirroring. In certain instances a RAID 10 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure. Because of limited scalability and high inherent costs, RAID 1+0 is typically used in database server applications like an Exchange Server or SQL database server which requires high performance and high fault tolerance levels.

RAID 0+1 Configurations

RAID Level 0+1 (0+1) requires a minimum of 4 drives to implement. A RAID 0+1 is a striped array with segments consisting of RAID 0+1 arrays and having the same fault tolerance as RAID level 0+1 plus the overhead fault-tolerance of mirroring. In certain instances a RAID 0+1 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure, however, a single drive failure will cause it to run as RAID 0. Because of limited scalability and high inherent costs, RAID 0+1 is typically used in imaging applications general file servers. It tends to be a high performance solution with reduced emphasis on reliability.

RAID 2 Configurations

RAID Level 2 requires a minimum of 2 drives to implement. Each bit of data word is written to a data disk drive (4 in this example: 0 to 3). Each data word has its Hamming Code ECC word recorded on the ECC disks. On read, the ECC code verifies correct data or corrects single disk errors. In certain instances a RAID 2 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure. The entry level costs for RAID 2 are extremely high, making it not commercially viable. RAID 2 performs 'on the fly' error corrections.

RAID 3 Configurations

RAID Level 3 requires a minimum of 3 drives to implement. RAID 3 is highly efficient and single disk failure affects performance only slightly. The data block is subdivided ("striped") and written on the data disks. Stripe parity is generated on writes, recorded on the parity disk and checked on reads. In certain instances a RAID 3 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure. It is commonly used for applications with very high throughput, such as video production, live streaming, and video editing. Read and write speed is high.

RAID 4 Configurations

RAID Level 4 requires a minimum of 3 drives to implement. Each entire block is written onto a data disk. Parity for same rank blocks is generated on writes, recorded on the parity disk and checked on reads. In certain instances a RAID 4 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure. It has the worst write rate of RAID designs, and has a very complex controller setup, however it reads rapidly and is highly efficient.

RAID 5 Configurations

RAID Level 5 requires a minimum of 3 drives to implement. It is the most versatile array design, and is used for databases, mail servers, file servers, etc. A RAID 5 is a striped array with segments consisting of RAID 5 arrays and has the highest data reading speed of RAID models. Each entire data block is written on a data disk; parity for blocks in the same rank is generated on writes, recorded in a distributed location and checked on reads. In certain instances a RAID 5 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure.

RAID 5+0 Configurations

RAID Level 5+0 requires a minimum of 5 drives to implement. It is highly expensive to implement and due to the required synchronization of the spindles has limited disks that can be used. A RAID 5+0 is a striped array with segments consisting of RAID 3 arrays and has fairly high data transfer rates. In certain instances a RAID 5+0 array can recover from multiple and simultaneous hard drive failure.

Jason Perry

ADR Data Recovery can rebuild failed RAID arrays, repair damaged RAID volumes, recover hard drive data, and restore critical data your company needs if you call before the damage is too severe. Once platters are damaged, striping overwritten or changed completely, the chances of getting your data back are slim.

Protect Yourself From The Inevitable - Invest In Data Recovery Software

Data recovery software may be a staple for some computer users, but not everyone is familiar with it. However, it is very dangerous to store valuable information on a regular basis without this important software.

If you don't have a good data recovery software program, have you ever wondered what you would do after a computer crash? It may just be a nuisance to have your computer shut down on its own volition, but what about the data that's on your computer? Any data that you were working on will be lost in the event of a computer crash. Sometimes even saved data can completely disappear. This is why it is imperative to invest in data recovery software.

Life is Not Always Controllable

Who doesn't love the convenience of the Internet? Need an answer? Look it up on the Internet! But, be aware, there is a great danger in regular web surfing.

Even though the World Wide Web offers instant information gratification there are hidden dangers that you may not be aware of. In fact, some damage may even be irreversible.

How exactly does data get lost? There are lots of ways! You may hit the wrong button, or more commonly some sort of virus or Trojan infects your computer. Sometimes software with unknown bugs is installed and this causes problems with the operating system. Upgrades are also known to cause problems when they fail.

However much we hate it when our personal computer crashes, imagine the effects of a computer crash on a corporate level. When bank computers crash, you better believe that they have state of the art data recovery software in place.

A power surge is a common way one loses data, but other familiar causes are overheating and electrostatic discharge. Basically anything that can cause damage to your hard drive and storage devices will end in the loss of data. The use of regular computer data backups is a good start. However, if you don't do the backup, all the backup software in the world will not help. But we are all human and sometimes don't backup our computer as we should. Thank goodness for this amazing software!

How Data Recovery Software Works

The idea is that the recovery software will find and retrieve any corrupt or inaccessible file or data from the damaged storage device. This software can also be helpful when needing to retrieve data from portable storage devices, such as CDs and DVDs. One of the best features of recovery software is that it can find those files that we have "recycled."

Software for data recovery is available in many varieties. Depending on your computer system and personal needs, there is a software program for you.

One tip is to purchase software that includes Studio Recovery Software. It is able to find damaged and deleted disks when other programs are unable. Not only that, but it is compatible with Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 Server and Vista.

There really is no reason not to invest in data recovery software. With the abundance of options in many price ranges, it is just not worth going without it. Peace of mind is invaluable where your computer data is concerned. Damaged data is unrecoverable unless you employ some sort of data recovery program. It is just not worth going without a good program.

Summary:

Data recovery software is one of those things you just have to invest in. Personal computers are in more use than ever and we save much information on them. Loss of data can be devastating, but with the right software it doesn't have to be.

With Data Recovery Software You Can Prevent The Devastating Loss Of Information

Why can a power surge be oh-so powerful when it comes to the data on your computer? If it hasn't happened to you, then it has to someone you know. You're busy typing away on that novel you've been being meaning to get to, finishing that term paper that is due tomorrow or making notes for an important business meeting and the computer screen goes blank. Prevention truly is the best method when it comes to protecting information on your computer. Having a good data recovery software program is a necessity.

There may be a number of reasons as to why your computer decided to quit on its own. However, often a data recovery software program can help retrieve data regardless of why it became lost in the first place. How this software works is that it helps to either fix or locate damaged and lost files. If your internal or external media storage format is not working correctly, communication lines can become crossed and cause file damage. This software has the ability to repair and retrieve files that are not only stored on your hard drive, but also on CD or DVD. Some files, CDs or DVDs require formatting in order to be restored and data recovery software can help with that.

Perhaps you've accidentally deleted important information. Data recovery software can help restore it. Many times a power surge or computer virus causes files and data to be moved to your deleted bin. However the right recovery software can find these files and help to restore them to their rightful home.

Another way that data gets lost is through physical damage. This most often displaces data that has been stored on CDs or DVDs. As we all know, these disks can easily scratch. The less popular hard disks can also become damaged through use. Any type of external media storage is susceptible to breakage and damage. If your data recovery software program is unable to fix your portable media storage, you will want to employ a professional. Professionals not only have experience, but the best software programs available.

Summary:

For all computer users, data recovery is an absolute necessity. In today's world, the occasional power surge is the least of your worries. Computer viruses are more complex and there are a variety of ways our files can become damaged. In order to safe guard your files, it is best to invest in some good data recovery software.

Data Recovery Company; When Is It Right To Hire One?

It is no wonder that people go after a data recovery company for recovering the data they have lost. There are some important issues that you should look for in such a company when you ask them to recover the lost data for you. Some of the points that you should be aware of are dealt with in this article.

What You Should Look For In a Data Recovery Company

Ask for a free diagnostic evaluation of your computer to find out if there is something that they can do to help. These companies should give you a guarantee to get your data back. If they couldn't do this then you should not be charged. Because many of your files can be very personal, the data recovery company should be confidential. They should be able to recover all media, file systems and OS. A good data recovery service company should also have multiple full service recovery labs to help you.

Additional Benefits you should expect from a company that recovers data

Before you pay for the service rendered you have to get a list of recoveries that are made from your system. Believe it or not, but In North America, there is only one ISO certified data recovery company. If you need one of these data recovery companies, then you need to make sure you make sure that this company can do it. Your satisfaction is utmost important.

There should be sophisticated research and development programs with such company, as well as warranty authorized. They should be factory authorized with DLT, SDLT, JAZ and ZIP.

Data Recovery Companies Can Save a lot of your valuable time

You might be having a very busy schedule in your business that you don't have time for spending on data recovery. In such cases the data recovery companies come to your rescue. They take the load off your shoulders and ensure you of your data back. Such companies should be authorized and sophisticated to handle such issues. You can pay such companies only if you see some progress in recovery.

Otherwise you shouldn't pay for them. they save a lot of time so that you can spend your time in meetings and other agendas instead of sitting before the system and recovering data.

A data recovery company can be a valuable business resource. However, the assessments of your needs should be finished before you decide whether or not to work with such a company. Then you can decide if you need this service as well as which company you eventually want to work with.

Back Up Data Restoration Can Make Recovery Faster

If you work with a computer on a regular basis or even if you have a personal one with files that are important to you, it's important to make sure you back up data for easier restoration in the event of a crash. The process of backing up can seem like it takes hours, but it's a welcomed find in the event of a problem.

Back up data restoration processes are much easier than dealing with a computer that has never been backed up. This is so for a number of reasons. They include:

* If a back up of data has been performed on a regular basis, the "lost" files from a crash won't really be lost. The computer can be fixed and the files restored to their original location. * Should the computer be a total loss from the crash, the back up data will save the day by being available for instant reload on a new machine. Back up data restoration is a lot easier to deal with than trying to unlock files from a hard drive that's been crashed. * Expense. It's a lot cheaper to reload backed up data during a restoration process than it is to pay a service to recover it. These services can cost a lot more money than you might think. Remember, too, though that there are back up data restoration programs available for use when it's only certain applications that have crashed. These are generally do-it-yourself and cost a whole lot less than a full restoration service.

If you feel you need to do back ups on your machine, you have a number of options. They include:

* A full back up data restoration protection process would involve the copying of files on a regular basis to a specialized drive with a storage ability. ZIP drives and other similar devices can make the process go much more smoothly. The tapes can then be used to completely restore a set up if a crash takes place. * Select file back ups. This method is only recommended for those who only need specific files off their computer. All that's necessary here is to back up file saves onto a disk. Make sure the disks are clearly labeled and do save them in a good place so they can be found in an emergency. * System check points. Many computer operating programs do regular system saves themselves. But, the problem with this is that the data is saved on the computer itself. If the crash is a total one, that information will still need to be unlocked during a backup data restoration process.

Whether you use your computer every waking moment or just once in a while, there are likely files on it you wouldn't want to lose. If this is the case, a good backup data restoration plan should be considered. Make sure you backup data on a regular basis, save it where you can access it and perform routine maintenance on your machine to help ensure a crash doesn't happen. There are no guarantees, but a good back up data restoration plan can help avert a complete disaster in the case of a crash.

Data Recovery Specialist To Find Your Lost Files

You have fear to lose your data in the your computer when you work? You have fear to lose your data in the your computer when you work?

Many people not gives importance at the hard drive crashing that can be caused by viruses, human error or power surges, and however it not think that something will go wrong.

With the progress of the technology and the developing of the memory capacity, the floppy disk data store are not more sufficient, many large companies have important data stored on the computer and have needs of a large space, and this to creates an high risk to lose the data.

This failure to access the hard drive could be caused from damage to the file system or through physical failure that it have occurred to the hard drive.

Also when the BIOS does not detect the presence of the disk drive, then there is the possibility that your hard disk are damage.

Most physical damage to hard drives cannot be repaired by end users, but fortunately, today's computers are devices powerful that can find the solution to prevent and to resolve these problems.

Most machine today are equipped of an recovery system that make a back up of data saving the you work while you are working.

This can be helpful in providing you with the necessary help you need in finding files that are just lost.

Determine what has happened and it controls if there are some error message, and make a backup of your data is an important security nowadays.

If this solution cannot find your data and recycle bin on the your desktop or laptop computer, there are a several data recovery companies that recover files of all sizes when your original data disappear.

These companies are able to restore your critical files quickly and easily, such as USB jump drives, Digital camera memory cards, CD, DVD, and much more.

They uses the latest tools like magnetometers to retrieve the lost bits from the magnetic media and they help many people or companies that they has been hit from one unexpected breakdown of the their calculator.

The extracted raw bits retrieved from the damaged disk are used to rebuild a disk image, which can then be mounted to have its logical damage repaired.

If you want to find data recovery companies to make analyze your problem, look over the World Wide Web, many of these companies to works via internet.

Normally, the time to recovery is about 2-4 days for logical issues and 5-10 days for physical issues

The estimated cost of the services changes from the company chosen and from the type of data recovery of which you can have need, therefore you can have return your hard drive without charging for their services if they are unable to deliver your compromised files.

Data Recovery: Getting Rid Of Data Recovery Myths

There is a lot of mythology surrounding the idea of data recovery. People have to go through it when they delete some important files by accident off their hard drives. You?ll probably also see forum posts from people wondering what to do about their lost data after a computer crash. There are plenty of so-called experts on data recovery that would answer them, somewhat annoyingly, with: ?Did you make a back-up?? Nope. And now your only history paper has gone down the tubes.

The theory holds that: If it?s gone, it?s gone forever.

The fact is, however, that in most cases concerning data recovery, that statement isn?t exactly true. Unless the data has been physically overwritten, it has not completely disappeared. It doesn?t matter whether it was deleted accidentally, went corrupt because of a virus, or a disk got formatted accidentally?data in a system is very clingy.

So what?s really going on? Well, it?s not so much that the data is ?lost.? In reality, it just cannot be accessed by normal means. Let?s say, for example, that your project, ?American History,? was in a file that was accidentally deleted. Don?t think that you?ll have to re-do those many hours of research to get a passing grade on your final. Your file, in fact, is still contained in the drive, only now it has a signature byte added to start of its filename.

Now for the tricky part. Your file will stay on the drive, but as soon as you save something new, this new data occupies the space of the signatured file. That means that, if you do happen to lose files, don?t save anything new so you?ll keep the file you?ve deleted intact and ready to be recovered.

So there?s one important thing to keep in mind with data recovery: don?t ever put in new data following the accidental deletion of a file.

Did you learn from this lesson? Let?s now move along to another myth we should get rid of.

It won?t hurt to install data recovery software, will it?

It?s a simple answer to this one: NO. Even though data recovery software is all the rage nowadays and running it yourself on the drive can seem like a good idea, you should NOT do this. You can use the data recovery software you downloaded, but make sure it?s run on a separate drive that?s working properly.

Don?t forget Lesson #1: Don?t ever put in new data on your drive. Even a mere one-megabyte from some data recovery software might harm your chances at a successful data recovery.

There are ?experts? that can recover and reload data.

This is actually true. There are experts out there, but even they are humbled by a drive that?s been significantly physically damaged and in which there is absolutely no hope of recovering data. Also, they can?t restore data completely back to 100%. Remember, they?re experts, not sorcerers.

And if you?re looking for the best way to make sure you don?t lose files, then here?s the most proven method: back everything up.

Data Disaster Recovery - Is It Really Necessary?

When people think of disasters, they mainly think of flooding or earthquakes. In the world of computer experts or people who makes their living using information technology, a disaster can be quite different and yet can have the same paralyzing effects. Like an aftershock to a major earthquake, losing one's data suddenly and without warning can leave many a computer technicians as well as users shocked and in awe. Never panic though, because disaster data recovery is a possibility and all that was once lost might be found with a high degree of reliability and an even higher percentage of probable retrieval.

Fire and flooding damage to a home can result in a complete mess. Most people might feel "ruined" because of the extreme equipment casualty that can be done to a home. Once it is established that there is no harm to any of the humans or pets in a building or office building, the healing of the equipment through disaster data recovery is ready to begin. A team of reliable computer technicians or experts is called in to begin work on your computer equipment or any other piece of equipment that was damaged by the fire.

Data backup and recovery is always precious. Many of the techniques the team of experts will use on the equipment are the same as the techniques used to rescue lost data from other machines under more normal circumstances, for example retrieving lost files from a damaged hard drive through a fire is much the same as simple finding lost files from a hard drive with a virus or other sort of infirmity. The important thing to keep in mind is that nobody gets hurt in the process of disaster data recovery.

Dangers from earthquake and fire

In more than one case, companies or individuals that lose important data to a fire or earthquake face a time of uncertainty that is unrivaled in the world of business conflicts and personal negativity. The pits of despair are now too familiar a home for those that have lost crucial pieces of data or information because of a strong type of calamity. Disaster data recovery can not only serve to restore the data to its original form but it can also restore relationships between them and, perhaps more profoundly, the human heart.

Data recovery experts are specialized in multiple areas of recovering data including, but not limited to: fire recovery, water damage recovery, and miscellaneous crash recovery that may have occurred with an act involving a sledgehammer and a frustrated information technology worker on his last day of work when the coffee was cold and the air conditioning was broken. Disaster data recovery will always have a place in the annals of office and/or personal lives and this author cannot be more grateful.

Tape Data Recovery

Tape data recovery is the new age technology that helps us retrieve the corrupted or errored data. Important information is always stored in any reliable form. Tapes are one such form in which data can be stored for future retrieval. These tapes may be subjected to wide kinds of harsh environments. Excessive heat or contact with water, failure or mishandling of cartridge or even age can detiorate the valuable information stored in the tape format and in such cases the information is often hampered or worst lost.

Technology now is so very handy that it can help us retrieve this corrupted or errored data from the source tape and make it very close to the original. There are circumstances when we have to look back at the information that we stored in tapes for references. Many data processing works and files are stored in tapes. When we look for the same information again, we find that data is either blurred or hard to follow. This is the time when we need to clean the existing data and make it accessible and useful, that?s what data recovery does.

Tape data recovery can be done in two ways: Physical data recovery and logical data recovery. The former method is followed when the tape is subjected to material loss such as cracked or broken reels, folded or twisted tapes or deposits of mud. The logical data recovery is comparatively hard wherein data is recovered from tapes that are overwritten or blurred due to continuous usage.

The data recovery process starts with primarily creating a raw image of the data on action front tape or drive media then the physical recovery starts with cleaning the tape, splicing it and respooling it .The logical recovery involves the low level logical segmentation of the tape and assessing the data therein by sampling the present data it is refurnished through software and in places where the data loss is huge dummy blocks are set. Tape data recovery helps us make spoiled tapes into new, useful ones.

This failure to access the hard drive could be caused from damage to the file system or through physical failure that it have occurred to the hard drive.

When if the system BIOS does not detect the presence of the hard drive, then chances are a physical failure has occurred.

How To Do Data Recovery, Data Security, Data Backup The Right Way

One of the most frightening things that can happen to a person is to lose the data off of their hard drive. Many of us store personal and business information on our computers. The thought of losing data due to a crashed or failed hard drive or perhaps a breach of data security sends chills down the spine of every grown man and woman. Once you except that you did not back up your data you need begin the data recovery process.

What exactly are your data recovery options once your hard drive crashes? First of all, stop using the computer immediately. It is not suggested that you run any data recovery software that came with your computer as this software can overwrite the original files. The next step is to allow a hard disk recovery company to restore your pertinent files. Contact a reputable company immediately. There are a few companies who come right to your home, but at-home data recovery computer services charge more. Certain computer files, such as DWG files (a complex graphics file format), require a specialist in order to be recovered. If there is damage to the hard drive you may not be able to recover your files. A hard drive crashing is an instance where data recovery is possible. If your data security is breached you may never recover what is stolen.

The best way to avoid compromised data security is to put safeguards in place. A few data security measures are encryption, antivirus and firewall protection. Data security such as encryption translates data into a secret code. To read an encrypted file you must have access to the key or password that enables you to decrypt it. There are many software programs and services that provide data encryption services depending on your data security needs. Additional data security measures such as antivirus and firewall protection provide further data protection. Some software programs have the ability to provide both antivirus and firewall protection for overall data security.

One way to avoid the mess of data recovery is to perform regular backups. Basic computer maintenance includes full and incremental backups. It is recommended that you perform a full backup once a week. An incremental backup is a backup that backs up only the files modified since the last backup and depending on your needs you can schedule this to run every day. It?s also beneficial if you have a copy of your data offsite. When you need to access this data you can either open the offsite data program and run it, or log on via the web to access your data. You will want to check with your service provider how to perform data recovery if needed.

Data recovery either from a crashed hard drive or lost through compromised data security can be a frustrating and devastating experience. The best situation is to avoid the loss of data all together. With regular computer backups and data security measures in place your computer data will remain where it needs to be, on your hard drive and easily accessible.

Some people balk at the cost of protecting their data, as well as the time involved in doing secure backups. But what they fail to consider is the cost of their lost personal and productivity time that is spent trying to recover data that could be recovered in literally MINUTES if they had properly safe-guarded the data in the first place! If your computer data files are the lifeblood of your business and/or personal life, the time and money involved in protecting that data adequately and properly cannot be determined by a dollar value.
